Devolver Digital today shares further information about their combat title 'Absolver', focusing on online modes and DLC plans, including new gameplay modes, new features and new moves to expand players' customizable combat decks.

The core and heart of Absolver's gameplay lies in its multifaceted combat mechanics and gripping online battles. The so-called Prospects initially venture alone into the Plains of Adal, encountering both AI-controlled opponents and live players – this unique blend is a key element of Absolver's gameplay structure.

Players will roam the world as their own independent "server," as the game seamlessly integrates other Prospects into their gameplay. Once players encounter each other, they can choose to engage in friendly sparring, more aggressive PvP combat, or cooperative PvE gameplay with up to three players at once. Through online co-op, all Prospects will be able to learn new moves directly from each other, progress toward absolution, and gain experience points that can be applied to one of six attributes—thus strategically improving their abilities.

Absolver also features a unique combat school game mode where advanced players create their own school, which other players can then join. The creator of this school effectively becomes a mentor to these students, and this relationship allows the mentor's students to utilize their combat decks and the extensive catalog of advanced moves within them.

First DLC content revealed

Sloclap has also announced the first of many free content updates for the game – designed to further expand the world of the Absolver and address community requests. Through extensive testing and a closed beta, early participants expressed a desire for features such as 3v3 mode, ranked matches, and a spectator mode – allowing them to watch the action and then jump in when it's their turn. These three features will be among the first free additions, along with more combat styles and moves for players' combat decks.

Absolver will be available for PS4 from August 29th.
