Indie studio Sloclap, which was formed by former Watch_Dogs and Ghost Recon developers, and Devolver Digital today announced the third-person online combat title 'Absolver', which will be released in 2017.

As a masked warrior, you traverse the desolate lands of Adal, proving yourself in online battles against other players to join an elite group of Absolvers. During your journey, you'll learn new fighting styles, acquire new weapons and armor, and build your own team of fighters to battle alongside you in both PvP and PvE matches.

Absolver is using Unreal Engine 4 as its engine, work on which has been underway since May 2015. Creative Lead Pierre Tarno added:

“Absolver is the result of our combined experience in game development, and we believe our team has created something truly special. We believe the world would be a better place if there were no weapons. Then we could focus on more important things, like sword fighting or how to kill a man without throwing a punch.”

Absolver is scheduled to premiere this June at E3. Until then, the first trailer for the game is available today.
