Bandai Namco and ILCA have begun developing a new Ace Combat-Game confirmed, as revealed on the occasion of the series' 25th anniversary.
While details about the game are currently scarce, except that it is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, there is at least a statement from Ace Combat-Producer Kazutoki Kono, who want to usher in a new era and further strengthen the team.
“We have started work on a new project in the Ace Combat series,” said Kazutoki Kono. “The Project Aces team will, of course, continue to be involved in the development of this new project, but as we celebrate 25 years and three million units sold, we have realized that we have many fans of all kinds. Our small team cannot handle this alone, so we want to significantly expand the Ace Combat team.”
"I hope the fans are especially happy to know that the next game is underway. With this new team, we're creating a new Ace Combat – a new era. I don't know where we'll be in the next 25 years, but the Ace Combat series will continue, and to everyone who supports us and creates with me – I will continue to give it my all."
Based on past experience, it will likely be a while before the game is released. However, there will be further content updates for... Ace Combat 7.
