Virtual reality pilots have something to look forward to: Aces of Thunder, the new flight simulation from Gaijin Entertainment, launches on 2 September For PlayStation VR2, PS5 and SteamVR. Those without a VR headset can look forward to a later flatscreen mode that will allow the game to be played on both PlayStation 5 and PC without VR.

Precision and history from the cockpit perspective

What Aces of Thunder What makes it interesting is the focus on realistic dogfights. Unlike typical arcade flight simulations, you fly exclusively from the cockpit perspective. The physically accurate flight and damage models are taken from Gaijin's well-known titles such as... War Thunder and promise a high degree of authenticity. HOTAS control is fully supported, making the simulation interesting not only for VR pilots but also for experienced flight sim fans.

The selection of aircraft covers the classics of aviation history. From the American P-51 Mustang and the German Bf 109 to the Japanese A6M3 Zero – over 20 historically accurate aircraft are available. Particularly interesting are the rare models such as the Red Baron's Fokker Dr.I or René Fonck's SPAD S.XIII. Every cockpit is meticulously recreated, and the weapon systems and instruments correspond to the originals.

Global battlefields and online air battles

Aces of Thunder It offers 15 maps depicting various theaters of war: the Western, Eastern, and Pacific Fronts, as well as the front lines of the First World War. In addition to single missions with historical context, players can compete against each other online and test their aerial combat skills. For VR enthusiasts, immersion is key: you literally control the aircraft with your own hands, can stroll through the hangar, and closely inspect your favorite plane.

Aces of Thunder This shows that VR flight simulations are far from reaching their full potential. The combination of realistic flight mechanics, historical aircraft, and global locations is a clear advantage. Whether the gameplay remains engaging in the long run depends on how varied the missions remain and how vibrant the online community becomes.

I'll definitely get it.
It will surely be another affordable price compared to Flat Games.
And more importantly, flying + VR is so awesomeImmersive!
It would be better if you could choose between VR or flat screen.
