Developer Panache Games and Creative Director Patrice Désilets have launched a video series about 'Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey', in which they shed light on the development process of this rather unusual concept in games.

In it, Désilets and anthropologist Dr. Niobe Thompson discuss how improbable the survival chances of our ancestors were 10 million years ago. In the brand-new Experiences video series, Patrice Désilets explores the unique concepts of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey with experts from outside the gaming world. As scientists, athletes, and creative minds share their own journeys, viewers learn, among other things, how similar emotions and experiences are evoked in the game.

"In this first episode, Patrice Désilets meets the anthropologist known from award-winning documentaries such as The Great Human Odyssey, Equus, and Fast Horse. Sharing a passion for history and humanity, they reflect together on the challenges of survival and development in Neogene Africa while examining the exhibits at McGill University's Redpath Museum. Dr. Thompson later discovers the art of game development at Panache's studio and immerses himself in the world the team has recreated to transport players back in time and allow them to experience the unforgiving world in which our earliest ancestors evolved."

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will be released this December for PS4 and Xbox One.
