Panache Digital Games and Private Division today released the second video in the “Experiences” series, in which Creative Director Patrice Désilets explores the unique concept of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey with numerous experts from fields outside the gaming world.
Each video features a renowned specialist in anthropology and paleontology, as well as a survival expert in the wild. These scientists, athletes, and creative minds share their own experiences and compare them to those offered by the Ancestors gameplay.
In the second episode, "The Sport Climber," Patrice Désilets meets professional climber and 2020 Olympic hopeful Alannah Yip during one of her training sessions to see how we still use the same motor skills and instincts as our prehistoric ancestors used to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
Together they discuss how both hominids of the past and modern humans have always tried to push their physical limits in order to constantly adapt and become stronger. During her visit to Panache Digital, Alannah experiences the thrill of climbing, swinging, and exploring in Neogene Africa over 10 million years ago and gains a completely new perspective on climbing.
In the already published first episode “The Anthropologist” Patrice Désilets meets the anthropologist and filmmaker Dr. Niobe Thompson and discusses with him the survival of 10 million years ago in the African Neogene, the merciless world into which the player is placed in Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.
