In April of this year stars Game designer Patrice Desilets presents his new project 'Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey', which falls somewhere in the adventure genre.

Broadly speaking, the aim is to address the major events and problems in human history, taking some stylistic inspiration from the successful Uncharted series, as revealed at the Reboot Develop conference. More precisely, it will be a blend of Uncharted and Rust, telling the story in episodic form, with 20 episodes currently planned. Each episode will cover a different era of human history, from its earliest beginnings to the modern world.

The game isn't intended to end when the story concludes. Instead, the developers plan to first engage the player emotionally with an action sequence, before dropping them into a sandbox environment where they can explore independently and must survive. Role-playing elements will also be incorporated, along with decisions that will have lasting effects beyond the main storyline.

The release date for 'Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey' was still not revealed.
