May the flock be with you! Activision, Rovio and Lucasfilm today announced the release of the mobile hit Angry Birds Star Wars for the current generation of consoles.
"With more than 100 million downloads since its release last year, Angry Birds Star Wars combines two of the biggest names in pop culture into a gaming experience that is unique in this form," said Jami Laes, Executive Vice President for Games at Rovio Entertainment. “Angry Birds and Star Wars™ are brands with millions of fans worldwide – we are excited to present the union of these two popular brands to players around the world together with Activision.”
Angry Birds Star Wars takes many of the exciting gameplay mechanics from Angry Birds™ and Angry Birds™ Space, expanding upon the game design and fun atmosphere of its predecessors with new characters, challenges, and environments inspired by the iconic Star Wars universe. In addition to the 200 levels from the original Angry Birds Star Wars mobile game, the title offers 20 new exclusive levels and, for the first time, multiplayer modes.
For playing with friends or family, the two-player co-op mode is ideal, allowing you to achieve a shared high score. In competitive mode, up to four players can compete against each other. The game also features achievements and trophies, leaderboards, high-resolution graphics (on HD-compatible systems), and unlockable bonus levels, items, and content.
The console version will be released on November 1, 2013, with new levels, features, and platform-specific design elements.
