Just yesterday, 'Arizona Sunshine' was released. Highly anticipated shooter for PlayStation VR It was released, which, among other things, supports the new Aim Controller. After the overwhelmingly positive feedback of the Oculus Rift version, the PlayStation VR version unfortunately comes with quite a few problems.

The handling of the touted two-handed weapons and the Aim Controller is particularly problematic. Accuracy is currently a distant dream, as we discovered in our initial tests. Anyone blasting their way through the zombie apocalypse without the laser sight, relying instead on the classic iron sights, is likely to be completely outmatched. By the time you've dealt with the hordes of zombies, you'll usually have run out of ammo and become zombie food yourself. The Aim Controller's tracking also becomes unreliable after just a few minutes, meaning the in-game angle doesn't match the actual weapon angle in your hand at all. It's a real test of patience, more akin to shooting around corners.

Help is on the way.

Developer Vertigo Games has already announced a patch that will hopefully resolve the existing issues. While they are keeping the exact details of the update under wraps, it's safe to assume that the tracking will be addressed.

For this reason, we've decided to hold off on our review of the game for now and wait for the patch before giving a fair assessment. That said, 'Arizona Sunshine' makes a good and fun impression. More on that later.

(Update)

According to Vertigo Games, the already confirmed patch will not yet fix the Aim Controller issues. Instead, it will address the frame rate, the zombies-floating-in-mid-air bug, optimizations in Horde mode, and matchmaking. The patch has already been submitted to Sony for certification and should be available soon.

Furthermore, Vertigo Games stated that they are aware of the issues with the Aim Controller and that another update is already in the works. This update will address tracking, altitude optimization, rotation speed, weapon drift, and more. The release date for the update is currently unknown.
