The indie racing game art of rally It will be released this summer for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Versions for Xbox consoles and Nintendo Switch had previously been announced. Developer Funselector Labs Inc. has not yet announced a specific release date.
What is Art of Rally about?
art of rally It occupies a niche in the racing game genre. Like its competitors... Dirt Rally Unlike the official WRC games, this game is limited to depicting rally racing, i.e., point-to-point races on different surfaces and against the clock.
The approach taken by the developers differs drastically from conventional racers. Instead of photorealism and meticulously recreated vehicles, the graphic style here is much more minimalist, colorful, and abstract. The title art of rally The idea is therefore well captured.
The focus is on controlling the vehicle and mastering the tracks. Accordingly, the camera is positioned higher and further away from the vehicle. This gives the impression of driving a model car through hand-drawn landscapes. However, don't let the less realistic look fool you; under the hood lies a surprisingly sophisticated vehicle control system.
What does Art of Rally offer?
art of rally is limited to the so-called “golden generation“of rally sport. You won't find any modern sports cars here; instead, you'll be driving cars from the 70s and 80s, as well as the infamous Group B cars.”
As mentioned, the controls are very demanding and almost meet the standards of a real-world simulation. Without the tricks of a true rally driver, you'll hardly achieve the best times. Daily and weekly challenges also give you the opportunity to test and improve your skills and climb the leaderboard.
A photo mode is also included. Thanks to the great graphics style, it's really worth using, as there's simply nothing comparable on the market right now.
It's currently unclear how the PS5 version will differ from the other versions. However, all new versions will include the Kenya expansion pack, which offers beautiful new environments.
