Even though everyone is currently eagerly awaiting the release of Assassin's Creed III, Ubisoft is already thinking beyond that.
As producer Francois Pelland recently revealed, they are open to all possible settings for Assassin's Creed 4, even going back in time. This is possible because everything is based on the game's DNA.
Conversely, this also means that Assassin's Creed III will likely have a concluding story and no further spin-offs based on the story, as was the case with Assassin's Creed II.
