Ubisoft will end post-launch support for "Assassin's Creed Shadows" on June 16, 2026 with the final Title Update 1.1.11.
The French publisher is thus bringing the Japan adventure to a definitive close, just over a year after its release. An official announcement via the franchise's social media channels confirms this decision, while the second DLC had already been cancelled beforehand.
The cut after only one year
The predecessor, "Assassin's Creed Valhalla," was artificially kept alive for years with extensive content updates, modes, and expansions. Ubisoft is pursuing a completely different strategy with "Assassin's Creed Shadows." After the latest patch 1.1.10, which primarily focused on the Support for Sony's PSSR 2 Following the release on the PS5 Pro and the unlocking of the Bo-Stab, the final transition to legacy status now follows.
The timing is not surprising. The publisher is in the midst of a major corporate restructuring, in which resources are being redistributed. Internally, the strategic priority has long since shifted to the next projects in the series, above all to "Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced," scheduled for release in July.
One. Last. Update.

What does Patch 1.1.11 bring?
Specific patch notes are still missing. The official teaser only shows a short video sequence with wave and moon symbolism. From a purely technical standpoint, this suggests bug fixes and minor optimizations, rather than a massive content update.
While the community is speculating about last-minute features like a detailed photo mode or adjustments to the character switching between Naoe and Yasuke, the technical reality of Ubisoft productions in their final support stage tells a different story. Don't expect miracles.
For buyers of "Assassin's Creed Shadows," this news is sobering, but consistent. The game is technically optimized, runs stably, and visually pushes the PS5 Pro to its limits thanks to PSSR 2. Anyone hoping for long-term gameplay evolution will be disappointed. The game will remain in its current state after June 16th.

I didn't even finish the main game, it's so boring.
With just one character, it could have been something for me…
Is the DLC worth it, guys? I've only played the main game so far. What I personally liked the most was actually Valhalla. But as they say, to each their own ☺️
It's a shame that Ubisoft simply doesn't put any effort into story anymore; the last good story games were definitely the Ezio series.
I hope Black Flag won't be a disappointment.
Marcel Venzo, how can Black Flag be a disappointment? The story is well-known…it's a remake after all.
Mathias Peter wasn't referring to the story itself, but to the whole thing, and Black Flag is also getting new story missions, and quite a lot of them – six hours of new content are supposed to be added.
I got the Platinum trophy and the DLC too…
The story was awful, but exploring the world and the stealth were fantastic! 👍🏻
The story and DLC were rubbish in my opinion; exploring Bughalla 2.0 didn't last long either. I'm glad the support is ending.
Kain Allen also reports no bugs, the game runs stably 👍
Unfortunately, I never really warmed to this game. I've played pretty much all of them, but this one just doesn't do it for me. It's a shame, really.
Sven Kalefe, I found Valhalla worse. That was the first one I quit.
I actually thought Leon Lambert's Valhalla was quite alright. I even got the platinum trophy, but I skipped the DLC. My favorites, though, remain Black Flag and Odyssey.
Sven Kalefe, for me it's exactly the opposite. I also quit Valhalla after about 30 hours, but I played Shadows to platinum and started NG+ because it's fun to play again every now and then. Currently at 161 hours on the save file.
It's a shame, especially since I would have been more willing to support it financially, particularly in a Japanese setting. Hopefully, there will be some kind of arena where you can fight against different enemy types, and maybe pistols could be easily adapted from Black Flag as a crossover.
Also interesting is the longer support period compared to Yotai.
