From January 23rd to 26th, it is possible to Avatars: Frontiers of Pandora Play for free. The free trial is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Ubisoft Connect. In Stock and allows up to five hours of gameplay or progress to the Home Tree in the main quest "The Aranahe Clan".

In parallel, a third-person update is available that noticeably changes the perspective on Pandora. Those who have hesitated so far now have a fair opportunity to try out the game at their own pace.

Five hours on Pandora – enough for a real impression?

The free trial starts from the beginning of the game and isn't designed as a cut-off slice. This is a positive because it quickly reveals whether the exploration, combat system, and progression work well together. However, it remains a single-player mode; co-op is reserved for the full version. According to Ubisoft, this is a way of "unadulterated entry“To learn the core mechanics, but not the social dynamics.”

For many, this should be enough to develop a gut feeling. However, anyone planning a long-term cooperative venture must factor in this gap.

Third-person update: More overview, different immersion

The new third-person mode It's more than just a cosmetic option. The perspective provides a better overview in combat and makes navigation through dense jungles more accessible. At the same time, some of the original first-person immersion is lost. This isn't a flaw, but rather a design trade-off that allows players to decide what works best for them.

In everyday use, third-person view should be particularly helpful for those who had problems with first-person view. A clear advantage, provided the switchover remains seamless and doesn't create new camera issues.

Test instead of trust

Avatars: Frontiers of Pandora Visually, it was always impressive, but the gameplay wasn't without its share of discussions regarding structure and repetition. The free trial is therefore worthwhile, as it replaces the marketing hype with personal experience. Performance, controls, and gameplay flow can now be evaluated concretely, without any pressure to buy.

Five hours isn't just a demo snippet, but a real basis for making a decision. The third-person option noticeably expands the game, but doesn't resolve every structural issue. If you're curious, you should try it out and then make an informed decision. How does Pandora strike you after the first few hours?

Great job by Ubisoft, even if it's not available here, as you can see. The third-person perspective is fantastic; it's great that they went to the trouble of adding it later, it certainly wasn't easy. I wish the same for Dying Light: The Beast; then it would be the perfect zombie game for me. As it is, Days Gone is still number one, but Requiem could easily take over.

Perhaps someone here can help.
I'd love to try the trial version. Unfortunately, I haven't found a demo option anywhere. It's not available as an option in the full version, nor under demos in the PS Store, nor on the smartphone app.
Do you need PS Plus? But that should be obvious, shouldn't it?

It seems to be unavailable in Germany; have you tried another store? It's definitely available in the UK.

Yes, it seems to be available in all other stores. But we can't download it from those stores here.
It's strange that it's also being advertised for Germany.
But thank you again! 🙂
