Two fan wishes are coming true. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will receive an update in December with a third-person mode and New Game Plus.

Avatars: Frontiers of Pandora The game will become significantly more versatile starting December 5th. With the upcoming update, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are fulfilling two of the community's most requested features: a third-person mode and New Game+. This is the team's response even before the expansion's release. Fire and Ash directly based on player feedback – and this should be noticeable in more than just cosmetic terms.

The new third-person mode allows players to experience Pandora from a perspective other than first-person, whether exploring, fighting, or flying. According to Ubisoft, this wasn't simply a matter of moving the camera; animations, controls, and soundscapes were also specifically reworked to offer a cohesive experience. So, anyone who previously found the limited perspective frustrating now has a genuine alternative.

New Game+, stronger focus on long-term players

The new update also introduces the New Game+ option, a classic quality-of-life feature that was previously missing. Players who have already completed the main story can now replay it, retaining their equipment and abilities. The difficulty level increases noticeably, a new skill tree is unlocked, and the rewards are adjusted. This feature is aimed at experienced players who want to feel challenged once again.

According to Creative Director Omar Bouali, the update is a direct response to the wishes of the community: "This update is a tribute to the passion of our players." This too is a sign, because Massive Entertainment seems willing to establish Pandora as a living world in the long term and not just as a one-off experience.

A sensible step, but is it enough?

In the past, he had already Avatars: Frontiers of Pandora with content such as The Sky Breaker and Secrets of the Spires It received two solid enhancements. Performance improvements, such as... the 40-FPS mode The improved combat balance and other features demonstrate that post-launch support is being taken seriously. The third-person mode and New Game+ now seem like a logical next step, but perhaps also one that should have been part of the game from the beginning.

Is this update enough to make Pandora interesting for you again? Or were you never really on board to begin with? Let us know in the comments!

I liked the game, and now with the third-person mode, I'll play it again. Maybe I'll get the DLCs too.

I think having Thorsten as a person is a good option; then everyone can choose as they wish.

I'm surprised... the game doesn't only run at 30 fps on the PS5, does it?
