This gives fans not only a new perspective on the world of Pandora, but also added depth to the gameplay. A brief summary of Update 2.0.
Experience Pandora from a third perspective now
Previously, the adventure on Pandora's Western Frontier was strictly playable from a first-person perspective. This has changed with the update: Players can now activate the third-person perspective to see their own character, including equipment and cosmetic items. Massive Entertainment has reworked the animation systems, controls, and camera to ensure a smooth gameplay experience.
The switchover is quite straightforward. After the update, the game still starts in first-person perspective by default. A single keystroke is all it takes to seamlessly switch between first- and third-person at any time.
For players, this means not only a new visual experience, but also a different way of perceiving the environment, whether in combat, exploration, or while admiring the breathtaking landscapes of Pandora.

Finally. Thank you, Ubisoft.
Much better now with the new perspective.
I'm really excited for the new DLC.
Besides Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin's Creed Shadows, this will be my most played game on the PS5 Pro in 2025, and I absolutely love it! I'll be playing the new mode extensively tonight.
I'm extremely demanding and selective when it comes to choosing single-player games, and three consecutive wins don't disappoint when it comes to the quality of the gameplay. I'm convinced that Outlaws and Shadows, at least, have taken a significant leap forward in terms of narrative. The gameplay in all three is simply fantastic, as long as you don't spend hours on the same activity. They take their community feedback to heart, act on it, and deliver – I have to give Ubisoft credit for that.
