Shortly after the release of Gearbox's MOBA title 'Battleborn', the first free character will follow at the end of May, which was presented today.
As a member of the Eldrid faction, Alani is the last survivor of her order after Rendain's Jennerite empire stole the oceans of her world. Thus, the healer had no choice but to become a warrior. Having come from a planet with vast oceans, Alani's attacks and abilities revolve around her power to control water, using it to either inflict pain or heal allied Battleborn.
Alani will be available from May 31st and can be unlocked in-game for 47.500 credits. Owners of the Season Pass and the Digital Deluxe Edition can unlock Alani immediately with a Hero Key, and she will be available starting May 24th.
PlayStation 4 Open Beta Bonus
As a thank you to all PS4 players who participated in the Open Beta, they will receive a Hero Key to instantly unlock Alani or another hero of their choice on May 24, as well as the first story operation of the Battleborn DLC pack upon release. PS4 Open Beta players who also purchased the Season Pass or the Digital Deluxe Edition will receive an additional Hero Key (bringing a total of six to be awarded over the course of the Season Pass content release).
Double XP Weekend
Furthermore, the first Double XP weekend is coming up. From Friday to Wednesday, you can enjoy double experience points for Command Rank and Character Rank in all Story Mode missions and competitive multiplayer matches. This is a worldwide event on all platforms. All you have to do is jump into the fray and enjoy the double XP. It starts at 17 PM and ends at the same time.
