At least studio boss Christian Grass managed to confirm that the classic maps will be included. However, they plan to reveal how these will be presented at the EA Play Live event on July 22nd.

Grass said:

"I can't say much about it, but I can reveal that one of the components of this experience we're creating is that we're adding some of the fan-favorite maps back to Battlefield 2042. However, for the full experience, they'll have to wait a little longer."

These supposedly include Metro, Locker, Wake Island, Siege of Shanghai, Arica Harbor, and Caspian Border. Of course, all of this is unconfirmed.
