DICE will release the final content update for 'Battlefield V' in June of this year, in order to then fully concentrate on the development of 'Battlefield 6'.
As Senior Producer Ryan McArthur notesThe development team has now switched to working from home and is optimistic that they can meet the current schedule. Chapter 6 will conclude on April 29th, with a final content update in June. After that, there will be no new maps, weapons, or game modes for Battlefield V.
Regarding the larger Summer Update and beyond, fans can look forward to the following content:
- New content: A new update will be released this summer.
- Weekly rewardsFollowing the summer update, players will receive Battlefield currency or Company Coins as weekly rewards, potentially allowing them to unlock equipment they may have missed out on previously.
- events and activitiesSeveral weekly initiatives are planned, such as the reintroduction of #FridayNightBattlefield servers where the community can play Battlefield V in a friendly atmosphere. Throwback Thursdays will also be introduced, aiming to bring together players from across all Battlefield titles.
- Working on Community Games Updates This process will continue. Efforts are underway to bring these into play. Further information regarding the exact schedule will follow.
Anti-cheat measures remain a key focus, ensuring the community can continue to rely on fair matches.
