As announced, DICE has today released the major summer update for 'Battlefield 1', which primarily includes numerous fixes.
Only Xbox One X owners can now look forward to 4K support as a new feature, while all other platforms benefit from shorter loading times and other improvements. We'll tell you all the details. the official changelog:
GAMING EXPERIENCE
- Improved loading times on the "Customize Soldier" screen and fewer connection drops when joining servers.
- A problem has been fixed that caused map voting results to be ignored if an RSP map rotation was changed during the voting process.
- A problem has been fixed that occasionally caused the squad boost to count down before the round even started.
- The result of the map vote will now be retained if the game server is migrated to a different host for maintenance.
- A problem has been fixed that prevented players in a queue from joining a game if they were behind a player waiting for an open spot in a specific team (as a result of joining a party or friend).
CARDS & GAME MODES
- The balancing of shock operations on Lupkow Pass, Zeebrugge and Prise de Tahure has been improved.
Lupkow Pass
The goal was to make the first sector a little easier and reduce the impact of the Behemoth.
- The boundary of the first sector was adjusted to:
- to prevent the defenders from using the rocks at the edges of the border for sniper attacks on the attackers.
- to prevent the defenders from using the slope at the edges of the border to launch attacks against the attackers.
- In sectors 2 and 3, one defender aircraft was removed so that the defenders would not also have air superiority in sectors that were difficult for attackers.
- In Sector 1, the defenders' single cavalry unit was removed to prevent cavalry attacks outside the boundaries against the attackers.
- The Behemoth airship L30 has been removed from sectors 2, 3, and 4. The Behemoth still exists in sector 1, but it should not be as consistently dominant among defending aircraft, anti-aircraft guns, Burton LMRs, and anti-aircraft missile launchers.
- In sectors 2, 3 and 4, there are now elite kits available as comeback aids, and some existing kits can be used by attackers as comeback kits.
Zeebrugge
The goal here is to help the attackers in the first sector as much as possible. The remaining sectors look quite good in terms of sector loss, so simplifying the first sector should allow the attackers to build up sufficient offensive power.
- In Sector 1, the boundaries were adjusted so that the defenders no longer have access to the lighthouse. The lighthouse and part of the breakwater now belong to the attackers' headquarters.
- The attackers' elite infiltrator kit has been moved to the lighthouse base. There is now also a flamethrower gunner there, allowing the attackers to advance more aggressively and hold flags in the first sector.
- The capture area of the A-flag has been slightly adjusted to make capture by swimming a little easier.
- Defender aircraft now respawn slightly slower than attacker aircraft.
- Defenders now only receive their second aircraft when the attackers reach sector 3, and not, as before, when they reach sector 2.
- In Sector 4, defenders can no longer use boats against the attackers.
Prise de Tahure
- It turned out that the attackers in the last sector were able to steal defender kits and defender "comeback" kits from the attackers – so we took care of that.
WEAPONS, GADGETS & VEHICLES
- The M1903 (Experimental) now has an alternative firing mode.
- A problem has been fixed that caused vehicle-placed anti-tank mines to have difficulty detecting vehicles.
- The reload time of the C96 pistol when loading individual bullets has been adjusted to match the animation.
GAMEPLAY
- A bug has been fixed that allowed players to grief teammates using grenade weapons such as mortars and anti-aircraft guns.
- Beacon signals from allies now indicate their sighting radius to teammates, improving coordination between scouts.
- A bug has been fixed that caused damage to result in points being awarded. Damage less than 0,5 was not being reported to players. Damage less than 0,5 is now rounded up and awards at least 1 point.
USER INTERFACE/USER EXPERIENCE
- Gameplay options to adjust the color and visibility of the lens sight crosshair have been added.
- Gameplay options to display compass bearing numbers on the minimap and the large map have been added.
- Graphics options to adjust the width and height of the screen safety area on PC have been added (already available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4).
- The names of the mission objective icons in the world have been moved from below the icons to above them to reduce UI overlap and improve the player's view of soldiers near the mission objectives.
- Gameplay options to separately adjust the visibility of 3D icons and names of mission objectives and soldiers.
- The gameplay options for customizing world icons now also work in spectator mode.
- Gameplay options to adjust the size of the crosshair and hit indicator have been added.
- Gameplay options to adjust the visibility of the HUD field when damage is taken have been added.
- Gameplay options to adjust the size and visibility of the following HUD elements (each separately) have been added:
- Points notifications
- Kill log messages
- Chat log
- Game mode info field
- troop list field
- Vehicle seat occupancy
- Vehicle passenger list field
- Player info field
- Various HUD elements (weapon/vehicle/reload hints, commorose, interactions, warnings, awards, etc.)
- A problem has been fixed that sometimes caused dog tags to appear blank on kill cards or after a melee kill.
Active support for Battlefield 1 has ended, meaning no new DLC or other content will be released. Developer DICE will now focus on developing Battlefield V, which will be released in September.
