Just a few days ago, developer DICE approvedthat there will be no new content for the CTE in 'Battlefield 4'. This also applies to the two night maps, which were already in internal development.
New versions of the Golmud Railway and Siege of Shanghai maps were planned, but according to DICE, they will no longer be released, even though they had already been tested on the Zavod Graveyard Shift map. No further reasons have been given for why the maps will no longer be released.
While EA intends to maintain support for Battlefield 4, it's unclear how long that will last. A large portion of the development team has likely already moved on to the development of Battlefield 5, which is expected to be released later in 2016.
