Before the big Battlefield Showdown this evening, you can enjoy the pre-show for the event starting at 16 pm, which will begin in just a few minutes.
In it, developer DICE takes another look back at the series, including the debut of Battlefield 1942 in 2002, past the Vietnam War, up to modern warfare and the future setting of Battlefield 2142. The series currently comprises 11 titles, played by over 50 million players worldwide.
The premiere of the new Battlefield will then take place from 22 pm and can be followed in its separate stream, which we will provide later.
A new image of Battlefield 5 has now surfaced on Xbox.com, once again suggesting a World War II setting, complete with airships and more.

The previous artwork has since been further revealed and seems to confirm that the game will not be called Battlefield 5 after all, but 'Battlefield 1'.
