Beat Saber – PSVR rhythm game available now

By

Beat Games today released the PSVR rhythm game 'Beat Saber' for PlayStation VR, following its huge success on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

Beat Saber is a unique VR rhythm game where the goal is to slice the beats (represented by small cubes) as they come at you. Each slash indicates which saber to use and which direction to slash in. The entire soundtrack is composed to perfectly complement the handcrafted levels. The goal in developing Beat Saber was to make players almost dance as they slice the cubes and navigate around obstacles. Each slash is accompanied by stunning sound and visual effects to emphasize the rhythm.

The following extras are included exclusively in the PlayStation VR version:

  • Challenging campaign: Train your skills every day by completing the levels in our new, complex campaign created exclusively for PS VR.
  • Exclusive new songs: The soundtrack, composed specifically for Beat Saber, has already generated a wave of enthusiasm. In addition to the popular hits, we now bring you five more exclusive tracks from international stars of electronic dance music.
  • Plenty of extras: Numerous new extras ensure even more exciting gameplay that never gets boring.
  • Legendary lightsabers: When you split cubes with these swords, you always fight in style, because the glowing blades are a feast for the eyes!
  • Practice mode: As they say, practice makes perfect. That's why in Beat Saber you can start at any point in the level or even slow down the game to practice difficult sections.

On top of that, you can expect various game modes as well as active post-launch support that constantly promises new content.

  • Party Mode: Impress your friends and family by playing together! Everyone can join in instantly!
  • Game mode “One Sabre”: Those who fight with only one sword must be doubly careful, because every carelessness will be punished.
  • Game mode “No Arrows”: How you swing the sword is now entirely up to you. Can you react quickly enough to slice the cubes correctly?
  • World Rankings: Climb the global rankings and compete against players from all over the world.

Beat Saber is now available for €29,99 on the PlayStation Store. A disc version appears to be coming later.
