The PS5 Pro has been on the market for over a year, and Sony has been rather reserved when it comes to discounts. That makes it all the more surprising. this year's Black FridaySeveral retailers offer the PS5 Pro for EUR 679 That's €120 below the RRP. For a console that represents Sony's most powerful piece of hardware, that's a welcome price drop.
This offer is only valid for a few days, as the official Black Friday deals end on [date]. 2. DecemberNobody knows what will happen after that. Cyber Week is right after, but the likelihood of the PS5 Pro dropping to or below that price again is rather slim.
PS5 Pro Black Friday 2025
The PS5 Pro boasts a significantly more powerful GPU, improved upscaling technology, and manages to display games with noticeably greater stability and sharpness. Anyone playing ray tracing or high-frame-rate titles will immediately notice the difference. Add to that the doubled 2TB storage, a boon when you have several large AAA games installed simultaneously.
The catch remains the same as at launch, however, because the disc drive is still separate. Anyone wanting to use their old PS4 or PS5 discs will have to upgrade. Some retailers are already offering bundles at the Black Friday price, depending on whether you prefer to get started right away or upgrade later.
Is it worth buying now?
Even if not every game fully utilizes the PS5 Pro's power, the direction is clear. upcoming PSSR2 update This should further improve image quality, and GTA 6 It's coming up in about a year. It will be one of those games where you're glad to have every reserve player you can bring.
And yes, some titles still show that developers have yet to learn how to push the hardware to its limits. Ghost of Yotei It was a clear example of how there's still room for improvement. But the trend is moving in the right direction, and the PS5 Pro is the version that high-end users won't want to do without.
So, anyone who wants to buy a PS5 Pro and doesn't want to wait until 2026 is currently getting the best price ever for Sony's premium model.
The PS5 Pro isn't a must-have upgrade for everyone, but this is when the price finally makes sense. For €679, you get more storage, more graphics power, and a console ready for upcoming blockbusters. If you've been hesitating, Black Friday 2025 is likely to be your cheapest window for a long time.
This Pro version nonsense is bordering on customer fraud. Are the developers going to push the first PS5 (sometime in 10 years) to its limits, or the Pro version?
That's one of the reasons why I won't buy a PS6 anymore and will wait a while. There are many reasons for that.
PS6 Pro version, digital only, missing games… Steam Machine (which is also digital only, but can do more).
Ah yes… insert the module and off we go, those were the days…
Nonsense. I bought the Pro in April for €649. There wasn't even a sale or discount at Tsoto...
There's a "never" moment where I'm much happier with the Ally, because I can play games like Alien: Isolation on max settings at 60fps and more, or Batman: Arkham Knight. That's not possible with the Pro, even though it has more power, because there aren't any patches for those games (and yes, I specifically want to play those games at more than 30fps; Bloodborn fans can definitely relate^^). Combined with the Steam store, it's unbeatable. I've already transferred a quarter of my PS library to Steam, and it cost me less than €50. Games are practically being given away there compared to PSN. I'd rather invest the money in the Steam/PC ecosystem than in PS products this Black Friday. Micro SD card with 1,5TB, new mouse from Logitech the MX Master 4 (the first mouse with haptic feedback ^^) and a new back cover from Extreme Rate for my standard DualSense which I'm modifying myself; I don't need an Edge, not even at a reduced price.
