Kotaku's Jason Schreier was once again on an investigative spree and claims to have learned from confidential sources that the development studio Blizzard in a first-person shooter StarCraft-universe had been working on, which has now finally been shrunk down.

According to Schreier's information The shooter in question, codenamed "Ares," had been in development since 2017 – Blizzard wanted to experiment with what would happen with the Overwatch-Engine and the brand StarCraft Anything is possible. From the developers' point of view, the Ares project was already in a solid state – however, the studio pulled its team from it to dedicate itself to other projects: Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2Schreier also claims to have learned some information about these two games: For example, he said... Diablo 4 It is significantly more socially oriented than its predecessors – however that may look in practice. Overwatch 2 (whose name may also be different) has a large PvE element. This isn't particularly surprising – the seasonal PvE missions in the predecessor were very well received. Players have been demanding a permanent PvE mode for years. It's therefore conceivable that Blizzard might even create a campaign for the sequel.

Incidentally, the studio plans to unveil both projects at its own convention, BlizzCon 2019. Who knows – maybe there won't be any boos this year. Last year's reveal of Dialbo: Immortal This caused considerable displeasure among the fans.
