NetEase Games and 24 Entertainment have relocated the single-player action-adventure "Blood Message" to the year 848 AD. An unnamed messenger and his son traverse Central Asia on a thousand-mile march towards Chang'an. Brutal survival meets the late Tang Dynasty.
The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5, and the combat system focuses on visceral melee combat and siege scenarios in desert and wilderness biomes. The developers use proprietary tools to accurately depict the historical setting and the physical impact of attacks.
The publisher's first AAA project will be playable for the press for the first time this coming weekend at the Summer Game Fest Play Days. The precise dynamics of the combat, the hit feedback, and the graphical depth are only truly effective when played in motion. The three-minute story trailer "Hold Till Dawn," embedded above, provides visual proof.
