Sony is releasing a huge package for all PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers, completely separate from the normal monthly announcements.
Bungie is ending active content support for "Destiny 2" and, as a farewell, is adding the extensive Legacy Collection (version 2025) to the subscription service. Anyone who has previously avoided the MMO shooter now has the ultimate entry point at no extra cost.
This is what's included in the mega package
The "Destiny 2: Legacy Collection 2025" is packed with content from the shooter's entire history. You not only get the base game, but also the three major standard expansions: The Final Form, Lightfall, and The Witch Queen. In addition, it includes the Forsaken Pack, the "30 Years of Bungie" Pack, and the three dungeons Pit of Heresy, Shattered Throne, and Greed's Grip. Also included are over 50 exotic rewards and the powerful Prismatic Subclass.
That's a heck of a lot of content. The only catch: you have to purchase the dungeon keys for the three major expansions separately. The campaigns for "Beyond Light" and "Fortress of Shadows" aren't included in the packages themselves either, as they're already integrated into the game for free. So the collection isn't completely comprehensive. Nevertheless, it's enough to keep you entertained for hundreds of hours.

Why this is important now
Bungie is ending active support. It's a bittersweet feeling. On the one hand, "Destiny 2" has reached its final destination, but on the other hand, the fragmented DLC policy made getting started a nightmare for newcomers for years. This package cleans up that mess. You can play through the entire saga from beginning to end without constantly running into paywalls.
The latest expansions, "The Edge of Fate" and "Renegades," are not included in the subscription, but are currently on sale. For those who are eager to try them out, check them out. Star Wars vibe content Anyone who wants the full package from "Renegades" can upgrade here at a low price. For everyone else, the free subscription is more than sufficient.
Bungie's parting gift is a brilliant deal for latecomers. "Destiny 2" remains a benchmark in terms of gameplay. That's precisely why now is the perfect time to catch up on the story without worrying about missing the next live event.
Is it still worth joining now that live support is ending, or is that putting you off? Let me know in the comments if you're finally going to catch up on the campaigns!
