Angry Mob Games has set the release date for their Super Smash Bros.-like fighting game 'Brawlout' for summer 2018 on PlayStation 4, meaning the title will be released slightly later than planned.
Brawlout is a fighting game designed for fast-paced, action-oriented gameplay by eliminating guard and defensive tactics. By focusing on aggressive mechanics, players will be able to execute impressive combos without feeling overwhelmed by more experienced friends – in other words, it aims for a fairly accessible gameplay experience for all players.
"Isn't this just another Smash clone?" We heard that a lot during development. In some ways, yes, we have elements that people loved in Smash. Character moves, ledge grabs, and even some character power sets are reminiscent of the Nintendo classic. But at its core, Smash Bros. wasn't the game we looked to for inspiration when thinking about the core mechanics we wanted to incorporate into Brawlout. commented the developer.
Brawlout is meant to be more like traditional fighting games such as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, where you can really feel the power of the punches and in-the-face kicks – plus combo breakers, of course. The developers wanted an aggressive, combo-heavy game, not something that consisted solely of blocking and defensive stand-offs.
We'll also tell you more about Brawlout our preview at the time from gamescom, as well as a current trailer.
