Following a few screenshots, Focus Home Interactive is today showing the first moving scenes of 'Call of Cthulhu', which is currently being developed by Cyanide Studio in Paris.
The investigative role-playing game employs psychological horror and stealth mechanics, in which players explore and investigate a disturbing game world as Cthulhu, the Great Dreamer, prepares for his resurrection. As a player, you take on the role of Edward Pierce, a former veteran and private investigator. You investigate the tragedy and mysterious death of Sarah Hawkins and her family on Darkwater Island, which the trailer offers a glimpse of today, including the Hawkins Family Mansion.
Madness and the Cthulhu Mythos have long existed here, and your investigations increasingly reveal the influence of Cthulhu's realm. Madness will gradually consume you, raising ever more questions about what is real and what is illusion. This means that only madness can lead you to the truth, and you must walk the razor's edge between sanity and determination to uncover it.
Call of Cthulhu will be released in 2017.
