Looking at the history of Call of Duty games, DLC support for last year's installment, 'Black Ops III', would have been largely complete. However, this time things are supposed to be different, and developer Treyarch is promising additional content for 2017.
During a recent livestream event, it was stated that there's no need to abandon the game just yet, as Treyarch's co-studio boss Dan Bunting and co-studio head Jason Blundell confirmed that new content and features will be released next year. While no specific details have been revealed yet, it seems clear that the popular Zombies mode will particularly benefit.

Just now Call of Duty: Black Ops III has been optimized for the PS4 Pro, meaning that this console is essentially just the beginning. Furthermore, a completely new game from Treyarch isn't expected until 2018.
