For some time now, a brand new game mode called DMZ has been in development in Call of Duty There is speculation about it, but Activision has said very little so far. Official details and the launch could follow soon.
This can be inferred from the ESRB rating of Call of Duty Warzone 2, in which the DMZ mode is specifically mentioned. This could mean that the mode is included along with Warzone 2 or at least starts soon.
"This is a first-person shooter set in the Call of Duty universe where players participate in a variety of multiplayer battlers (e.g., Battle Royale, Skirmishes plunder-style / DMZ)", schreibt the ESRB.
DMZ is supposed to continue the story.
Also of interest is the recent report that the Call of Duty storyline will continue within the DMZ mode. Up until now, the talk has been of a larger game mode that requires ongoing maintenance. Ideas for this are also said to be coming from... Escape from Tarkov to obtain, but do not expect a 1:1 copy of it.
Some time ago, insiders wrote about this:
"DMZ will reportedly follow an elaborate storyline as a continuation of the campaign: a chronicle of characters, fronts, and quests."
That's exactly what has now been done taken up again and, according to a well-known leaker, will be delivered via the Intel function, which places parts of the campaign into game modes and gives players more details about the story and characters.
These very likely ties into what @RalphsValve heard several months ago about the story continuing after campaign through DMZ. Intel is one part of establishing that connection. https://t.co/st0j16zwz0 pic.twitter.com/BMlugArqhh
