Firaxis has finally released the long-awaited roadmap for Civilization 7 Revealed – and it couldn't be more ambitious. During a 90-minute stream, the studio presented its plans for the first nine months after release, including several DLCs and a series of free updates that will further expand the strategy game.
Early Access and first updates
Civilization 7 appears on 6. February Early access is available for buyers of the Deluxe and Founders Editions. Everyone else will have to wait until February 11th before they can immerse themselves in world history. But shortly thereafter, it all kicks off. Firaxis with a wave of new content.
March: Crossroads of the World Collection
The first major DLC, Crossroads of the World, will be released in March and will bring numerous innovations:
- Release 1 (early March):
- New leader: Ada Lovelace
- New civilizations: Carthage & Great Britain
- Four new natural wonders
- Update 1.1.0 with the “Natural Wonder Battle” event
- The Bermuda Triangle as a new wonder of the world
- Release 2 (end of March):
- New leader: Simon Bolivar
- New civilizations: Bulgaria & Nepal
- Free update with Marvelous Mountains Event
- Mount Everest as a natural wonder
April – September: Right to Rule Collection
The second major expansion, which Right to Rule Collection, will be published between April and September and will include:
- Two new leaders
- Four new civilizations
- Four additional wonders of the world
- Ongoing free updates with new events, challenges, and improvements

Long term support planned
Firaxis has already indicated that Civilization 7 Content will continue to be provided beyond September. Further updates are planned for October and beyond – perfect news for fans hoping for long-term support.
A precise release date for the first DLC will be announced in the coming weeks. However, Civilization 7 is off to a strong start and has a promising future.
