TeamKill Media is back – the somewhat controversial developer that promises more than it delivers. They announced "Code Violet," a new third-person shooter for the PS5, today, with a planned release in July 2025. Should we take that date seriously? Well, history speaks for itself.
From big words to small deeds
The studio's debut project, “Quantum error"It was announced with much hype, but was released late and disappointed many. It was followed by "Son and Bone"A prehistoric shooter that was solid, but also failed to deliver the hoped-for sparkle. Now we have "Code Violet." As we all know, the third attempt could be a charmer – or just another mediocre game in a fancy package."
The plot sounds ambitious: In the 25th century, humanity has barely survived a global catastrophe that has rendered Earth uninhabitable. The last survivors seek a new beginning on the exoplanet Trappist 1-E. But there's a problem: Infertility threatens the extinction of humankind. The solution? Abduct women from other time periods to use as surrogate mothers. It sounds bleak and ethically questionable – and that seems to be the crux of the story.
Players take on the role of Violet Sinclair, a young woman from the past who suddenly finds herself on Trappist 1-E. There, she must not only defend herself against monstrous creatures but also uncover the dark secrets of the Aion Bioengineering Complex.
horror meets action
TeamKill Media promises gripping third-person action with a focus on stealth and survival. Players will decide whether to fight, hide, or simply evade the creatures. A mysterious director and the activated evacuation protocol promise additional tension—or so they say.
One thing you have to give TeamKill Media credit for: their games actually get released – eventually. And with each project, they seem to learn something new. Will "Code Violet" be the title that finally puts the studio in the spotlight? Or will it remain just another big idea that fails in its execution? We remain skeptical – but also curious. Here's the debut trailer for "Code Violet."
