At today's State of Play Sony has shown first impressions of their new IP “Concord”, which is currently being developed by Firewalk Studios.
The title is reminiscent of a kind of new Guardians of the GalaxyWith its entertaining cast of characters and space setting in a sci-fi universe, the game lets players join the crew of the Northstar, choosing from a wide variety of characters and role types, each with unique abilities and personalities. Players assemble their own crew of freegun space outlaws and team up online with other players for exciting 5v5 PvP modes across the galaxy.
“Concord brings people together. It’s the power of games to build connections and encourage social gaming,” Firewalk added at the PlayStation Blog“The Firewalk team is driven by the exciting, unexpected moments and shared experiences that multiplayer games create. Every time you log in, a new adventure begins, and every match is an opportunity for a new story. It is these ideals that define Concord, its unique universe of vibrant worlds, and its diverse cast of colorful characters.”
"Condord will be released on August 23, 2024. Pre-orders include guaranteed beta access for up to 4 additional friends."

Incidentally, the characters in the selection menu have gender-specific address options, including the yellow robot.
So this diversity bullshit is getting more and more absurd. I didn't even notice it at first because I think the game is crap for other reasons too, but other people who pay attention to that sort of thing have, and for them the game is already dead on the reveal.
Furthermore, it's incomprehensible why they acquired the studio; the game will probably be a flop. Instead of selling 10 million units first, they can consider an acquisition.
Too much trust is placed in the game, just like with Bungie, and in the end, mediocre games are released that have either already passed their peak or will never reach one because people are chasing trends that generate revenue instead of setting their own and thus being able to earn money.
Next up is another Gatcha Genchin clone from Sony.
I'm out of that too. But who knows how the mainstream thinks.
As far as I'm concerned, it can flop, but perhaps the majority will say something different.
Well, there are already four of us who won't buy the game, which is already a majority as long as no one else admits to buying it.
Thanks, but no thanks…
Doesn't appeal to me at all!
When the CGI trailer played, I was interested, and then the gameplay came on.
This will flop.
Overwatch with destiny in guardians of the galaxy... oh dear...
Conceptually, it's 7-10 years too late.
