The new update 1.11.00 is live. Developer Neowiz has doubled the pet limit to 100, fixed wyvern mounts, and introduced a buyback system for rare items.

The weekly update for "Crimson Desert" is here. With today's patch 1.11.00, the limit for registrable pets has been doubled to a maximum of 100 animals across all platforms.

The update also fixes logical errors in the system and introduces necessary quality-of-life improvements for the endgame. Players who have already completed the relevant challenges will retroactively receive the new reward items in their inventory. However, the number of creatures that can be summoned simultaneously in the camp remains strictly capped at 50.

Higher pet limit and new equipment options

More storage space doesn't mean more processing power for the camp's hardware. The limit of 50 visible companions remains in place. Technically important is the fix to the mount mechanic: Mounting a wyvern using "Axiom Force" now finally works without having to unlock the "Back Hang" talent beforehand.

Additionally, baby wyverns now have their own icon on the map, making navigation easier. The companions Damiane and Oongka can now also equip the chainsaw and the mining drill, respectively. A last-minute change in the changelog concerns the Iron Eagle and the Phoenix. Equipping the Sigil of Valor was removed for these two creatures on release day. This suggests last-minute balancing issues.

Recovery and bug fixes in gameplay

Lost rare equipment from chests or quests is no longer permanently gone. Merchants now collect these items and sell them back to the player within seven days. This comes at a price, however, as the buyback value is significantly higher than the original price. It's purely a convenience measure.

The faulty pinball minigame has also been noticeably modified. The ball now has a higher virtual weight, which should dampen uncontrolled trajectories. Glitches where the ball slid through walls or got stuck in the upper left quadrant have been reduced by adjusting launch angles and removing fixed pins.

Furthermore, Kuku Bird and Wyvern eggs no longer stack in the inventory. This forces better resource management on hardcore platforms, where a bug previously existed that incorrectly consumed two food units simultaneously when feeding. This bug has been fixed. Console players also finally receive free key bindings for the inventory, map, skills, journal, and photo mode.

Patch 1.11.00 delivers the next set of stability and quality-of-life improvements, primarily benefiting frequent players. Doubling the pet limit is a welcome addition, but the strict 50-pet camp limit simply ensures a stable frame rate on consoles. The new merchant buyback system for lost unique items is the most important safeguard against frustration caused by bugs. This is a solid maintenance update without any gameplay experiments.
