As suspected, Electronic Arts and Crytek have now officially announced a BETA test for Crysis 3, which will start this January.
The beta is designed to give you a taste of the full Crysis 3 multiplayer experience and help the development team gather valuable feedback from you. In the Crysis 3 beta, you can step into the suit, team up with your friends, level up to rank 10, and customize your Nanosuit with various weapons, attachments, and suit modules.
There are two playable beta multiplayer modes in the beta:
Hunter Mode:
In this multiplayer mode, only the strongest survive. There are two teams: one initially consisting of two permanently cloaked "hunters," and the other of up to fourteen CELL troopers awaiting exfiltration. Each eliminated trooper respawns on the hunters' team and pursues their former allies, culminating in a brutal showdown. If even one trooper survives the round, the hunters lose. Regardless of your choice, Hunter mode is a nerve-wracking test of your strategic and survival skills.
Crash site mode:
This multiplayer mode is the ultimate experience if you're a King of the Hill fan. An alien dropship will deploy a pod at a random location on the map. Players on each team must stay close to the deployed pod to capture the zone and score points. Each alien pod has two shields that players can use defensively as weapons. Additionally, each crash site map will feature a "Pinger," a walking Ceph weapon of mass destruction. But beware! Other players can take control of the Pinger while you're inside!
Beta maps:
Museum – Explore the dark museum ruins in Downtown Manhattan and use the verticality to your advantage.
Airport – Near the financial district, nature has reclaimed buildings and aircraft in this open playing field.
The Crysis 3 beta will be released on January 29th and will be available for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. In Germany, only PlayStation Plus members will have access.
