For publisher THQ Nordic, Darksiders 3 is nevertheless a success and, from a business perspective, is within expectations, as can now be seen in the current quarterly report mentioned. The title was even able to significantly contribute to increasing profits and recouping the investments.

“Net sales in our Vienna-based THQ Nordic business unit increased by 38% to €352 million, primarily due to the release of Darksiders 3. The game performed in line with management's expectations and recouped all investments made in development and marketing during the quarter.”

Based on this, the franchise isn't being abandoned, and fans can look forward to the final chapter of Darksiders 4, which is still open. Furthermore, several DLCs for Darksiders 3 are being released this year, which are expected to boost sales once again.
