David Jaffe leaves Eat Sleep Play to make casual games (Update)

God of War and Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe wants to leave his studio Eat Sleep Play to produce casual games in the future.

Twisted Metal hasn't even been officially released yet. Besides Jaffe, eight other employees are said to have lost their jobs at the studio. The studio itself now wants to produce more games for iPad and similar devices.

"It's a platform that we have in our pocket 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.", said studio co-founder Scott Campbell . "We can certainly reach many more people with this. That's really exciting for us."

Campbell also confirmed that the studio and Jaffe will be parting ways.

David Jaffe has reiterated via Twitter that he plans to open his own studio in San Diego. He misses in-house game development and looks forward to revealing more details soon.
