Although not the newest game, it delivers Bohemia Interactive further updates for DayZ The recently released Patch 1.18 promises new dynamic events and more server management options. Things get really explosive with a new weapon arsenal that allows for even more varied loadouts.
This includes the new M79 grenade launcher, designed to make life even harder for the survivors. Three types of 40mm ammunition can be found for the M79: smoke grenades, explosive grenades, and the rare P-OX grenades, which contain deadly gas.
For those who want even more, there's also plastic explosives and even homemade, improvised explosives that can be detonated remotely with a timer or detonator. To better protect their flanks, players are well-equipped with the infamous Claymore mines, which inflict high damage in one direction at close range. And after a successful loot run, the job can be celebrated with a proper fireworks display.
The weapon arsenal will be replenished with update 1.18 as follows:
- M79 grenade launcher – 4 x smoke variants, 40mm explosives, P-OX gas
- Industrial C4
- IEDs (Remote Explosives)
- claymores
- P-OX gas grenades
- Fireworks Launcher
- Derringer pistol
- Sawed-off versions: Blaze and Revolver

New Dynamic Events
Another highlight is the dynamic events, which are among the most exciting events in DayZ These locations are included in the new update, which offers even more variety. In addition to helicopter crash sites, there are now train wrecks, which appear in three tiers, from civilian to military, and offer some of the best loot in the game, including the M79. However, caution is advised, as the former passengers appear in undead swarms when things get too noisy.
For the more stealthy survivors, the new update introduces hidden weapons. The Derringer is small enough to fit inside a teddy bear, while the sawed-off double-barreled .357 packs enough damage for lethal hits. The Blaze rifle and revolver have also received craftable sawed-off versions, allowing for further customization of your loadout. These variants reduce weight and the number of inventory slots they occupy, making them perfect secondary weapons when reloading isn't an option during intense firefights.
Last but not least: Server owners can now further customize their servers thanks to new tools and options (also on consoles).
