Bohemia Interactive has released another major update for DayZ released, this time in version 1.14, which brings interesting new features to PS5.

The survival title is now playable at 60fps on the new consoles, plus numerous new features such as new weapons, gas mask filters, new effects, and much more. The highlight of the update, however, is a Contaminated Area, available in two versions: static and dynamic.

Static areas lock away high-value loot, while dynamic areas bring the world to life. Particular attention was paid to making these environments as immersive as possible through various visual and auditory effects, and ultimately to utilizing existing NBC equipment such as suits and gas masks.

Comprehensive changes

Helicopter crash sites have also been reworked. The Russian location has received a significant model update, including the addition of a smoke particle that is now visible from a greater distance. Every helicopter crash site now emits a loud, far-reaching noise, warning anyone nearby. Furthermore, the chances of finding rare prey at these locations have increased considerably.

True survivalists can also utilize three new hunting traps: a large fishing net trap, a small fish bottle trap, and a snare trap. Each trap is capable of catching its own unique animal, depending on its placement and the type of bait used. There's also a new explosive trap—the tripwire—which you should definitely use.

Among the new weapons is also the LE-MAS assault rifle, an exotic-looking rifle with 5,56 x 45 mm ammunition and a unique 25-round magazine that offers single, burst and automatic fire.

All changes in update 1.14 in DayZ can in the official forums be found.
