The Dead Space 3 DLC Dead Space 3 Awakened from Visceral Games and Electronic Arts is available from today and can be played in single-player and co-op modes.
In Dead Space 3 Awakened, Isaac and John Carver embark on a terrifying new journey. They must leave Tau Volantis, repair the Terra Nova, and return to Earth. The intensity and horror of the gameplay reach a new level in this latest expansion. Since its release last month, Dead Space 3 has been praised by critics worldwide for its outstanding achievements in action, suspense, co-op mode, and sound design.
“Dead Space 3: Awakened is one of the most creative and terrifying pieces of content the team has ever developed – it will put gamers’ psyches to a tough test,” explains Steve Papoutsis, Vice President and General Manager of Visceral Games and Executive Producer of Dead Space 3. "We've put Isaac and, more recently, Carver through quite a lot within the series, but these experienced veterans are experts at fighting horror. We're eager to see who will be brave enough to venture even further into the horrors of Awakened."
Players experience the continuation of the Dead Space 3 saga and, at the same time, the darkest chapter in the series. Awakened picks up the story where the main game left off: Isaac and Carver, left for dead on Tau Volantis, must now escape the hostile planet, repair the Terra Nova, and find a way back to Earth. There's just one problem: they continue to be attacked by bloodthirsty Necromorphs. The solidarity between the two men is tested once again as Isaac's madness intensifies. Haunted by visions of the Unitologists, he slowly loses his mind, and the two survivors realize they can no longer trust each other. Isaac and Carver are no longer certain what is real and what is hallucination as they engage in adrenaline-fueled combat and try to uncover what is truly happening.
Dead Space 3: Awakened is now available on the PlayStation Network in Europe.
