After much speculation, the secret of the engine behind Hideo Kojima's 'Death Stranding' has been revealed: as rumored, it uses Sony's Decima Engine.

The Decima Engine was developed by Guerrilla Games and will also be used in the upcoming 'Horizon: Zero Dawn'. According to Managing Director Herman Hulst, the engine has made tremendous progress over the past few years and is more powerful than ever. Kojima himself says of the engine that he is a "good feeling" with this and with Guerilla Games. More on that in the official PSX panel, which you can see below.

Furthermore, an alternative trailer for Death Stranding has been released, which was originally shown at The Game Awards. This trailer features a different soundtrack and altered visual aspects. As Kojima notes, however, the trailer is far from representing the final quality of the game.

Death Stranding will be released no earlier than 2018.
