Death Stranding – First gameplay footage coming soon?

At last year's E3, Sony and Hideo Kojima announced their new project, 'Death Stranding', with a marketing trailer, so everyone is eagerly awaiting the first in-game footage. Unfortunately, this year's E3 was cancelled. deliberately skipped it, because one would rather invest the valuable time in development.

That the project is nevertheless making progress, insured Shawn Layden, President of Sony Interactive Entertainment America, who already had a playable version, also hinted at upcoming gameplay footage that they plan to share with the world, as revealed in an interview.

"Things are really moving forward and progressing well since Kojima decided to use Guerrilla Games' Decima Engine. It's really started to get going and run around and be tested, and there are a few prototype levels. I've actually played some of it. Of course, it's still in its early stages, as work only really started this year. But with the Horizon Zero Dawn engine already up and running, we shouldn't have to wait too long to get a glimpse of this title in action."

 

Whether the presentation will happen this year is doubtful, given the current state of development. The release itself isn't expected before 2019/20, so actual in-game footage may still be a while away. Sony also intends to remain silent on the release date until they are absolutely certain about how it will be implemented. only recently stressed.
