Activision and Bungie have now officially released the debut trailer for 'Destiny: Rise of Iron', which will be released on September 20, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The new chapter takes players back to the beginning of their journey in the world of Destiny, pitting them against an old enemy from the past alongside one of the game's bravest heroes.
"The Rise of Iron is an exciting expansion of the Destiny universe," said Pete Parsons, CEO of Bungie. “We are constantly overwhelmed by the energy and enthusiasm of the growing Destiny community, which continually inspires us.”
The Guardians must prove themselves worthy to become the next generation of Iron Lords. In doing so, they will join forces with a legend from humanity's Golden Age to eradicate a seemingly unstoppable plague once and for all. The game features a wealth of new content, including a brand-new location on Earth called the Plaguelands, a brand-new six-player raid, the new hangout "Felwinter Peak" overlooking the Plaguelands, a new three-player cooperative strike, more quests, weapons, gear, competitive multiplayer modes and maps, a Light level increase, a new mutated subset of the Fallen, and more.
“Together with our partners at Bungie, we have been working hard and planning great new content for the 30 million registered players. The Rise of Iron is the first step in fulfilling this promise.” Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision, emphasized this. "Rise of Iron is packed with new content, including a new location, new Raid and Strike, combined with more quests, weapons, gear, competitive multiplayer modes and other content that we think players will love."
All players of Rise of Iron can acquire the Gjallarhorn, a firm fan favorite making its return. Those who pre-order the expansion starting June 9th will receive the limited-edition silver and black Iron Gjallarhorn.
