Although the release of 'Deus EX: Mankind Divided' wasn't that long ago, there are already concerns about the series and its future, even though Square Enix has already... had once emphasizedthat development is simply a matter of resources.

This was reason enough for Eidos Montreal's David Anofossi to comment on the current state of the brand, which in his opinion is by no means dead, but one must think about its future and treat it with respect.

"We just need to think about the future and shape it correctly and respectfully," so Anofossi.

Developer Eidos Montreal currently has several major games in development, and they have to prioritize which one to tackle next. They can't work on everything at once, but one day Deus EX will be back in production to continue the story of Adam Jensen, which fans still feel is unfinished.

Whether that will happen in this generation is purely speculative.

In another interview, Anofossi reiterated that no new Deus EX game will be released in the foreseeable future, as they are currently working on three other projects. Besides Tomb Raider and Avengers, there is an unannounced game in development (not Deus EX), but that's enough for now.
