A few days before the release of Ken: Bridge of Spirits A special feature is dedicated to how the protagonist was brought to life.
Ken: Bridge of Spirits It stands out primarily due to its soft look, which is very reminiscent of Disney films. The goal was to breathe as much life into the characters as possible and thereby create an incredible atmosphere. Much of it was animated by hand, and nothing was left to computer calculation.
Developer EmberLab writes:
“It was important to us to bring all the wonderful parts of her character design to life, and we put a lot of effort into the movement of her clothing and hair. The wind in her hair became an element that runs throughout the entire game, simply as another layer that makes you feel like you’re in a village inhabited by ghosts or standing on the top of a mountain. While we did use physics for the other characters in the game, every aspect of our main character was animated by hand.”

With this attention to detail, it was possible to bring Kena completely to life, including her personality, her facial expressions, gestures, and hair positions.
"This gave us a quick way to refine and differentiate animations while ensuring that Kena conveyed the feeling of sharing the same soul from beginning to end."
