Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred will be released on April 28, 2026. New classes, endgame updates, and Skovos await players in the dark world of Sanctuary.

When a Lord of Hell himself takes to the Game Awards stage, you know he's not in the mood for a script. That's exactly what happened yesterday when Mephisto announced the new Diablo IV-Extension Lord of Hatred accompanied. It gets dark, it gets intense, and there's a lot to discover.

Paladin is back – the first new class

Our preview of Lord of Hatred The Paladin returns after over 25 years of Diablo history. Those who prefer sword and shield will be delighted: Auras, Blessed Hammer, Condemn, and Heaven's Fury are all skills that fans have long loved. Skovos – Sanctuary’s ancient heart

The world of Sanctuary expands with the new zone of Skovos, a water-rich region characterized by volcanoes, sunken landscapes, and dense forests. Historically significant as the home of the first civilization, Skovos is also closely linked to Lilith and Inarius. Players will encounter cultists, monsters from the depths, and the ever-present shadow of Hell. The zone promises not only visual variety but also expands the story in a previously unexplored direction.

All eight classes receive comprehensive skill tree overhauls and new variants. Additionally, the level cap is increased, and new crafting systems like the Horadric Cube, as well as set bonuses with talismans, enhance the strategic depth. Lord of Hatred It also introduces the loot filter system to make the hunt for loot more targeted.

This makes the endgame more flexible: War Plans allow for individual progression, while Echoing Hatred offers endless waves of demons. Players can thus thoroughly test their builds and earn valuable rewards at the same time.
