Guerilla Games' Killzone series is 'dead', say insiders.

Anyone who still has hope that the KillzoneThose who hope the Guerilla Games series will be continued at some point may be disappointed in this regard. Internally, the series is probably already being considered 'to' copied.

Developer Guerilla Games has been dedicated to their new franchise for years. Horizon, the the Killzone-series which was replaced in 2017. Before that, it was released with Killzone Shadowfall The last installment for consoles, which with an average rating of 73, probably didn't quite meet Sony's expectations. This may be one reason why it meant the end for the series.

At least that's what insiders assume. on twitter Chatting about possible and current projects at Sony that are currently being developed in the PlayStation Studios. Killzone However, it is therefore no longer below that level for the foreseeable future. Sony's focus is currently clearly on the Horizon-Franchise.

Shooters not completely written off

However, Guerilla Games hasn't completely abandoned the genre based on this assessment. The studio could be working on a hero shooter with a focus on esports, an area where Sony is also increasingly involved. This might be the long-rumored development. Reboot of the SOCOM-Series while others claim the title could also be in Horizon-universe. However, all of this is unconfirmed so far.

Other projects currently being developed at PlayStation Studios include: Project Propaganda, the reboot to Syphon Filter at Sony Bend; the third part of Horizon at Guerilla Games, plus an expansion, as well as another stand-alone game that will be released at Monster Hunter It is supposed to be based on something similar.

Finally, we'd like to highlight the projects at Naughty Dog once again, including the online part of... The Last of Us: Part II, the possible battle royale concept, the remake of the first part, and of course The Last of Us: Part III.

However, all this information is unconfirmed, so only time will tell what actually comes true and what doesn't.
