DOOM: The Dark Ages is getting brutal new content this summer. Bethesda is sending the Doom Slayer into the story expansion "Revelations" on July 7th.
For just under €20 we get a completely new campaign, new weapons and a great free update for the Arena mode.
The Slayer in Purgatory
The story of “DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations"It hits you right where it hurts. The Slayer is wounded, betrayed, and trapped in purgatory. To escape, he allies himself with a mysterious figure and takes on a spawn of the gods. Sounds like doom, tastes like doom."
The developers promise deeper puzzles and new demon types in the new levels. But the real highlight is the new toy: the chain spear joins the already insane arsenal. This thing is supposed to combine mobility and raw power. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to dominate. Perfect.
Simultaneously on July 7th, the free update "Ripatorium 3.0" will be released for all players. ID Software is tweaking its in-house arena challenge mode. More customization options, custom presets, and an improved passcode system are on the agenda.
Those who own the DLC will even get three additional maps, new monsters, and completely upgraded weapons for the Ripatorium mode after completing the story. This massively increases the replay value.
20 EUR for a gripping story expansion and a new weapon is a tempting offer that will definitely get the main game back on hard drives in July. Those who own the Premium Edition or the Collector's Bundle can play the add-on at no extra cost right from release.
Is a new campaign with the chain spear enough for you, or would you have preferred a classic multiplayer mode for the first DLC of The Dark Ages?
