id Software and Bethesda have released the latest update for 'DOOM', which includes two long-requested features.

Private matches, which id Software hinted at a few days ago, are now available. This allows players to create and customize their own multiplayer lobbies, including game modes, maps, match length, and more. The second major addition is the free-for-all Deathmatch multiplayer mode. You can find all the other changes in the update's changelog below:

Fixes and Optimizations (Campaign)

  • A bug that caused the main menu to freeze when exiting a classic map has been fixed.
  • A bug has been fixed that blocked progress when reloading the save point in Blood Fortress B after picking up the yellow skull in the Crusher room.
  • A bug has been fixed that prevented Summoner and Pinky models from being visible in the Collectibles menu.
  • A bug has been fixed that caused the game to crash when reloading the Security Switch save point in the Polar Core with classic DOOM weapon stance enabled.

  • A bug has been fixed where dying during map changes and reloading the map in the next level would result in the character being completely wiped out.
  • A bug has been fixed that caused a problem when activating the classic weapon stance during a weapon check sequence.
  • A bug was fixed that prevented the Remote Ignition mastery from being further increased if the player had first used Stun Bomb on enemy targets.
  • An animation bug was fixed that prevented the Talisman Guard's legs from moving.
  • A bug has been fixed that caused the status of the "The Dead Man in the Shadows" challenge in Bloodhold A to be displayed incorrectly in the mission selection screen.
  • Several stability issues have been resolved.
