The long-mysterious Dragon Ball project codenamed "AGE 1000" is apparently not a new spin-off, but Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. The leak comes from none other than publisher Bandai Namco itself.
A playlist titled "Dragon Ball XenoVerse 3" briefly appeared on the YouTube channel of the Southeast Asia branch—including a reveal trailer. While the playlist was quickly deleted, screenshots are already circulating online.
The slip-up was discovered by, among others, the well-known leak tracker Wario64. An official reveal is now expected at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 this April.
Surprise or logical step?
Those familiar with the series will hardly be shocked. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has been running since 2016, supported by countless DLC packs, free updates, and native PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. From a business perspective, a third installment makes perfect sense as the community remains highly active.
However, the basic framework now feels outdated both technically and in terms of gameplay. Issues like loading times, netcode, and balancing have been recurring points of criticism for years.
What does Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 need to do better?
As of now, everything is based on a leak. Official details are lacking. Nevertheless, one thing is clear: a simple graphics upgrade isn't enough. The community expects:
- More stable online infrastructure
- Less grinding in endgame content
- Fair monetization instead of a constant barrage of DLC.
- Noticeable evolution in the combat system
It will be particularly interesting to see how Bandai Namco approaches monetization. Dragonball Xenoverse 2 It was a regular feature in DLC for years. This worked, but it also led to fragmentation.
The leak itself is credible because it comes from an official source, even though it was quickly removed. However, much remains speculation until the full disclosure.
What do you think: Is a third installment really necessary, or would a radical Xenoverse update for the current game have sufficed?
Okay, the graphics and art style are already better than Xeno 2. If they also offer PS Plus integration and/or offline content, maybe this will be the perfect DG game.
